Squarespace Custom Email Hosting Alternatives
Is G Suite by Google your only option for business owners using Squarespace? No, of course not. I found the cheapest and the best alternative is Private Email from Namecheap. This post shares why I like using it and what you need to consider, so you can make the best decision!
Why I Use Private Email From Namecheap For My Squarespace Custom Email Address
When I started the Squarespace web design business, I kept my monthly cost as low as possible. I studied Finance, and I know how important it is to keep the cost in control.
G Suite was expensive, so I decided to find a cheaper alternative for my business Squarespace website.
I’ve used Namecheap domain name service for over 10 years and have no complaints. So, I decided to use Private Email, and no regret. I share this because I want to let you know that G Suite is not the only option. You can use other email hosting services, like Private Email from Namecheap!
Is It Possible To Have Email Hosting Service Somewhere?
Yes, in fact, Squarespace does not offer email hosting service.
Email Hosting vs. Web Hosting
Web hosting is the space on a server for website files and data. In contrast, email hosting is another space for email service management.
Squarespace does not have an Email hosting service, so they work with Google, offering G Suite.
The Best And Cheapest Alternative To Email Hosting For Squarespace Website
There are many other email service providers on the market. Still, I use Private Email from Namecheap and would like to share the good and evil, so you can make a better decision for your business.
Pros Of Using Namecheap
The cost is very affordable; it only costs EUR 10 (Starter Plan) for one email account per year (2023 pricing), while G Suite costs EUR 60 per year. Actually, this is the main reason I use it.
Private Email pricing (2023)
Once you join, you can get an extra discount if you extend your contract early. I think it’s an excellent deal!
If you want more storage (over 5GB), you can join the Pro plan, but Starter Plan is enough for me.
The pro plan gives 30GB, which is still cheaper than G Suite.
I don’t have any complaints after using it for more than two years, the service is stable, and the dashboard is user-friendly, too. I get what I need!
Cons Of Using Namecheap
However, Private Email gives only essential email hosting services, while G Suite has more than that.
What G Suite Offers Might Be Important For Business Owners
Host Virtual Meetings
G Suite offers some functions that Private Email does not provide, like hosting Google Meet meetings with up to 100 participants.
I host discovery calls via Google Meet Free Plan using a Free Gmail account. You can have up to 24 hours for a 1 on 1 meeting and up to 40 minutes for a group meeting.
If you often have a group meeting for more than 30 minutes, it’s better to have G Suite; it’s a pretty good deal unless you use Zoom or other software.
Check Email Easily On Mobiles
You can easily do that by clicking on the app.
Private Email has no app, so I must visit the website to log in.
However, it’s a matter of convenience; I don’t think it is necessary to have it.
Business Emaill Email Service For Squarespace Websites Conclusion
G Suite might be pricy for some, especially if you are new in your business.
It’s vital to distinguish what functionality is good to have and what is essential to have.
Hope you find this helpful.
